Navigators used storm glasses in the 19th century to read the weather — Jules Verne even put one in the Nautilus. The Tempo Drop seals camphor and ethanol in glass and produces crystals that shift and change day by day in response to the atmosphere. Science still doesn’t fully understand why the crystals do what they do, which is honestly part of the charm.
- Camphor and ethanol sealed in glass — no batteries, no apps
- Crystals change daily with atmospheric conditions
- Used by navigators since the 19th century
- Featured in Jules Verne’s “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea”
- Still not fully explained by science, which is very on-brand for it
- Decorates your desk while making you look thoughtful and nautical
