Spinning Top Plate | 25cm Walnut

Klaus Mader made a lathe-turned spinning top as a gift for his wife Margit. That labor of love turned into a passion for traditional playthings, and in 1991 the Mader workshop was established in Innsbruck, Austria. Today the line includes roughly 150 variations of spinning tops, yoyos, jump ropes, optical toys, and these plates — which are platforms for spinning tops on. Designed and manufactured in upper Austria from regional hardwoods. Mader describes them as a dance floor for the whole family, a stage for artists, or a paddock for would-be runaways: stalwarts made to keep the tops in one place.
