Nakiri Knife | 6.5" | German Steel | Solingen
A nakiri from Messermeister, the only fully women-owned and operated knife company in the world. Founded in 1981 by Bernd and Debra Dressler, the company made its name in 1992 by redesigning German knife construction with a demi-bolster so you could sharpen the entire edge heel-to-tip and setting a new standard with 15° polished edges. After Bernd's death in 2002, daughters Chelcea and Kirsten joined their mother Debbie in running the business, taking leadership in 2010. Debbie passed in 2025 after 44 years at the helm. This knife is made in Solingen, Germany from cold-rolled Thyssen-Krupp 1.4116 stainless steel with a ceramic stonewashed finish, hardened to 57 HRC. The squared-off tip and straight edge make it ideal for push-cutting vegetables without rocking the blade. Black linen micarta handle.
The nakiri's flat edge means you can finally stop pretending to enjoy the rocking motion every other knife demands. Just push straight down like you're stamping documents. Efficient, methodical, vaguely German about the whole thing.
