The blades are German X50 stainless steel with a ceramic stonewash finish, sharpened to 15-degree edges at 56 HRC hardness. Handles are distressed linen micarta. In 1992, Messermeister redefined German knife design by introducing demi-bolster construction so the entire edge could be sharpened from heel to tip, setting a new sharpness standard that made them the sharpest German cutlery on the market.
