Golden Coast Soy Candle | Eucalyptus, Sea Salt, Redwood | P.F. Candle Co.
P.F. Candle Co. started in 2008 as a one-woman Etsy operation and became what it is now: a Los Angeles factory run by Kristen Pumphrey and Thomas Neuberger, making candles they think about the way other people think about furniture. This one smells like the California coast — eucalyptus and sea salt air up top, white lavender and sage in the middle, redwood and fir at the base with a thread of palo santo running through it. They use domestically-grown soy wax and fragrance oils without phthalates, cotton-core wicks, and minimal packaging because they care about that sort of thing. Everything gets poured in-house at their California factory. It's the kind of atmospheric scent that fills a room without announcing itself.
Eucalyptus and redwood in the same candle feels like cheating — like someone distilled the entire Pacific Coast Highway into a jar and skipped the part where you sit in traffic near Malibu. Light it when you want your apartment to smell like you live somewhere with better weather.
