Hand it over and within minutes the crane will be rescuing a stuffed elephant from the top of the bookshelf, then demolishing a block tower someone else just finished, then parked sideways across a doorway because that's where the construction site is now. The two included figures will be fired, rehired, assigned to different projects, then lose their jobs again when a dinosaur shows up and declares itself the new site supervisor.

Fagus builds this crane from sustainably sourced German wood in their Rhede workshop, where about 135 people with disabilities hand-assemble toys with the kind of manual craftsmanship that makes repair worth offering instead of replacement. The swiveling lever extends to 32.7 inches, the stub axle steering system actually turns, and the whole thing is durable enough that the company runs a repair service rather than expecting you to throw it away when something breaks. Made in Germany by a workshop that has been producing wooden toys since 1982 while creating meaningful employment.
