Dear Universe is a collection of planets, moons, stars and other wonderfully celestial little pieces—some recognizable, some left open enough to become whatever a child decides they are. They can orbit across the floor, disappear into a block-built rocket ship, become part of a faraway galaxy, or simply be lined up and studied one by one.

There’s something especially good about putting the universe into a child’s hands.

The pieces vary in size, shape and color, with Grapat’s soft translucent finishes allowing the natural wood to remain visible underneath. They’re lovely for imaginative play on their own, and even better mixed with blocks, figures and other loose parts.

The set also pairs with Grapat’s Weekly Calendar: the days of the week have historical connections to celestial bodies, giving children another quiet way to begin noticing the relationship between time, language and the sky.
