Hunter Craighill started his Brooklyn studio in 2015 around a simple idea: everyday objects should feel as good as they look. This carabiner is CNC-milled from stainless steel with a springy wire gate and an S-curve body that tapers at the bottom so you can thread keys directly onto it without a split ring. Craighill's approach is super-iterative and detail-obsessed — the kind of manufacturing philosophy that shows up in the hand feel of something this small. It's 2.4 inches tall, weighs 0.8 ounces, and comes in raw stainless, PVD black, or PVD brass. Not rated for climbing or heavy loads. Made for keys, small tools, and the kind of accessories that need a home.

At some point someone at Craighill definitely said "what if we just skipped the split ring" and then spent six months figuring out the exact taper angle that makes threading keys feel like a reasonable activity instead of a hand cramp waiting to happen. That level of obsession over a carabiner suggests either perfectionism or too much coffee, possibly both.
