Chris Elfering, who founded LOCHBY after a career as an Army officer and the creator of BOND Travel Gear, got into fountain pens and quickly learned that most paper isn't up to the task — ink feathers, bleeds through, makes a mess. He found Tomoe River paper from Japan, which handles fountain pen ink beautifully, but the notebooks using it weren't built to travel or take a beating. So he made his own. This A5 ruled notebook uses that same 68gsm Tomoe River paper, stitch-bound with a simple kraft cover. It's designed in the USA, assembled in Taiwan, and the paper is acid-free. The 6mm line spacing keeps things tidy without being cramped. Fits inside the Field Journal, Field Folio A5, and Daily Folio A5 if you're into that kind of organizational nesting.
Tomoe River paper has a cult following among fountain pen people, the kind who have opinions about nib sizes and will absolutely notice if your ink feathers. This notebook keeps them happy. Also works fine with a ballpoint if you're not there yet.
