Wonder
together.

Big blue skies. A bird they’ve never seen.
And you, right there beside them.

A whole world of “did you see that?”
Real binoculars. Real discoveries.Thoughtfully chosen by Rarely YoungFor your days outside, together
Remember when the world felt this big?

They get a closer look.
You get to be there.

The hush before a deer steps into the clearing.
The very serious search for the bird making that sound.

You don’t need an extraordinary plan.
Just a little time, a little curiosity, and somewhere to wander.

Grippy ridges. A clear view. A color to call their own. Choose a pair that fits your young explorer—and one for the grown-up who still loves a little wonder.

Real optics, not toddler toys. Check your child’s face fit and help with focusing.

Childhood is better with company

A pair for them.
A pair for you.

Because “look over there!”
is better when you can both see.

Let them choose a color. Choose one you love, too. Then follow their lead: the squirrel at the fence, the bird above the trail, the distant shape that might just be a deer.

Somewhere between all their questions, you might find your own sense of wonder again.

A little field guide to a very good day

No itinerary.
Just a few things to find.

01 / LOOK UP

A bird you don’t know yet.

Find it with your eyes first. Bring the binoculars up. Follow the branch to its little visitor.

02 / LOOK FAR

A story on the hillside.

Scan the tree line from a quiet spot. Watch wildlife from a distance and let it carry on with its day.

03 / LOOK TOGETHER

Something only they noticed.

Let them pick the next place to look. Ask what they see. There’s no wrong answer to “what caught your eye?”

A little help for the grown-ups

Choose for
the explorer.

Start with how you’ll use them, then check the fit. A birthday alone can’t tell you which binoculars will feel right.

Will Standard Issue fit my child?

Have an adult check that the eyepieces line up comfortably with both eyes and the child can hold and focus the binoculars. NOCS currently lists 58–74 mm eye spacing in its 8×25 specification table, while another section lists 56–74 mm. If your child is near the minimum, confirm the exact model’s fit before ordering. We don’t assign a universal minimum age.

Always supervise children with optics and straps. Never look at the sun through binoculars or monoculars.

NOCSPROVISIONS
A maker with a curious streak

Serious about the view.
Playful about the rest.

Designed in San Francisco, NOCS brings color and character to real outdoor optics. Those distinctive ridges take inspiration from vintage BMX grips, art, and patterns found in nature.

Chosen by Rarely Young for the simple invitation they offer: slow down, look a little closer, and see what’s out there.

Before you head out

A few things
you might wonder.

Are these children’s toy binoculars?

No. NOCS makes real outdoor optics. Standard Issue is compact, but fit and handling vary by child. An adult should help check eye spacing, comfortable viewing, and focusing before use. See the fit guidance above.

Why get a pair for myself?

So you can look together. Two pairs let you follow the same bird or hillside without passing one pair back and forth. Choose two Standard Issue colors, or select a larger model for your own adventures.

What does 8×25 mean?

8× is the magnification. 25 mm is the diameter of the front lenses. Standard Issue combines that view with a compact body; the Field Issue 8×42 uses larger front lenses in a fuller-size binocular.

Can I build a kit and stay on this page?

Yes. Open any product, choose its available option, and add it to your kit or straight to your bag. You can edit quantities, remove items, and keep exploring here. The kit adds your selected items together at their individual prices, with no automatic bundle discount.

Which accessories work with Standard Issue?

The 25 mm binocular pouch and lens cleaning kit are useful companions. The binocular tripod mount does not fit Standard Issue 8×25. The Inspector is an attachment for compatible monoculars, not binoculars. Each accessory popup includes compatibility guidance.

What about shipping and returns?
