Remember this feeling?

Nothing to plug in.
Everything to
get lost in.

You give it a twist. They lean a little closer. A rainbow becomes a blur, a wobble becomes a giggle, and suddenly you’re both reaching for another turn.

Childhood is full of little firsts. Sometimes, all one needs is a patch of table, a beautiful wooden toy, and you beside them.

Go on. Give it a spin.

A little pattern play, inspired by Rallye.

Meet Mader Kreiselmanufaktur

From a small workshop.
For a whole childhood.

Founded in Austria in 1991, Mader makes playthings with a wonderfully simple starting point: beautiful wood, skilled hands, and a fascination with what happens when you give something a spin.

Each top is turned by hand from regional hardwoods. Look closely and you’ll see the grain, the painted details, and the burned equator line that marks an original Mader.

A few little details

Before the
first spin.

How do I choose a top?

Start with the design that catches your eye: Rallye’s rainbow stripes, Bonbon’s decorative patterns, Zwirbel’s rounded wooden shape, or Apple Helene’s independently moving rings. Open any product above for its details and current price.

Do we need a spinning plate?

A smooth, level surface gives a top a place to spin. Mader’s 25 cm maple and walnut plates provide a dedicated play surface with a circular recessed area. The plate stays still while the tops spin. Tops and plates are sold separately.

Can I choose a particular color?

These Rarely listings currently have no selectable color options. Product photographs show examples of the maker’s colors and may show multiple pieces. If a particular color or pack quantity matters for your gift, contact Rarely before ordering.

Ask Rarely ↗
What should I know about age suitability?

Check the maker’s age guidance and packaging for the specific top before giving it to a child. Small tops and components are not suitable for children under 3. Enjoy them with adult supervision and keep small parts away from younger siblings.

How does the collection builder work?

Add the tops and plates you like to your collection, adjust quantities, and see your subtotal as you go. Add the whole selection to your bag in one step, then keep exploring or go to checkout. Products keep their individual prices; this is not a prepacked manufacturer set.

What about shipping and returns?

Shipping and taxes are calculated at checkout. Read Rarely’s current policies here:
