Water beading on waxed cotton
11-oz. Waxed Cotton

Rain hits. You don’t notice.

The tightly woven waxed cotton blocks wind and sheds water without a membrane, a coating, or a crinkly synthetic feel. It’s the kind of protection that doesn’t announce itself.

Machine-Washable

Throw it in. It can take it.

Most waxed jackets need special care—re-waxing, spot cleaning, prayers. This one goes in the machine cold with soap flakes, tumble-dries on low, and comes out ready for the next day. That’s it.

Most outerwear lives in your closet six months a year. The Eagle Harbor stays on your shoulders through Saturday farmers markets, Sunday porch coffee, Tuesday bike commutes—rain or shine. At 14 oz, it’s light enough to wear open when it’s 70° and structured enough to cut the wind when it drops to 50°.

The Rotation Problem

Rain shell for weather. Flannel for warmth. Denim jacket for looks. Three jackets, none of them right for every day.

With Jac-Shirt

One and Done

Water-resistant, wind-blocking, machine-washable, and looks better than all three. Grab it and go.

Matt R.
★★★★★

“The fact that I can machine wash a waxed cotton shirt is a game changer. My Barbour just hangs in the closet now.”

James K.
★★★★★

“Six months in and the patina is incredible. Every crease has a story. This is the jacket I reach for every single day.”

Why We Carry It
“When we started Rarely, I said if we could get Filson on the site, we’d know we’d made it.”

We don’t carry everything. We carry the pieces that end the search—the ones you reach for so often the rest of your closet collects dust. Filson’s been making gear that outlasts its owners since 1897. The Eagle Harbor is the piece that bridges their heritage with how you actually live: city sidewalks, weekend errands, Monday meetings. It’s not a costume. It’s the jacket that gets better every time you forget you’re wearing it.

Questions? Answers.

Water-resistant, not waterproof. The waxed cotton sheds rain and drizzle easily. In a sustained downpour you’ll eventually get damp, but for everyday weather—commutes, dog walks, farmers markets in the rain—it handles everything.

Yes. Cold water, soap flakes or non-bio detergent, tumble dry low. No special wax treatments needed. Don’t fold it while wet and skip the bleach. That’s it.

It runs generous—it’s cut like a shirt, not a jacket. Most people size down one from their usual jacket size. For reference, our guy Mitch is 6’3” and normally an XL but wears a Large in this. If you plan to layer a flannel underneath, go with your normal size.

The wax will naturally redistribute over time—high-wear areas lighten while creases deepen. This is the patina, not a defect. It’s the whole point.
