Ambrosia Bag

Ambrosia was founded in 2016 by Jan Rem, who created the first Ambrosia Bag after seeking a way to keep her garden’s basil fresh. Inspired by her grandmother’s linen-wrapped greens and her own lifelong sewing skills, Jan crafted the first bag in her Ojai home. Together with her husband Norm, she began selling the bags at the Ojai Farmers Market, where they introduced a natural, sustainable way to store food. In 2021, Jan’s child joined the business, bringing sales experience and a passion for sustainability to expand Ambrosia’s reach. What began as a simple linen produce bag has grown into a mission to promote thoughtful, sustainable living through small, meaningful choices.
